Information on your iPhone
Birdie uses photos you choose, artwork you create, saved golf rounds, selected calendars and reminders, and Smart Marker connection information to provide its features. Artwork and Round History are stored locally. This release does not provide Birdie account or cloud sync.
Permissions you control
Birdie requests Photos or Camera access when you create artwork; Calendar and Reminders access for Today cards; Bluetooth and NFC access for your Smart Marker; and location while using the app for nearby course search and course weather. You can change access in iPhone Settings. Birdie marks a reminder complete when you tap its checkbox.
Sending to your Marker
When you choose to send a design, Birdie transfers the design to your connected compatible Smart Marker. A Today card can include calendar or reminder information you choose to display. Information shown on the physical Marker may be visible to people around it.
Maps and weather
Course search uses Apple Maps services. Weather uses Apple WeatherKit and may use the US National Weather Service as a fallback. Course searches or weather requests may send search text or location coordinates to the relevant service. Internet requests also expose network information such as your IP address to the service receiving them. Those services process information under their own policies.
AI and payments
AI creation is not available in this release. Version 1.0 does not require a subscription or in-app purchase to use its available features.
Retention and your choices
You can manage permissions in iPhone Settings and remove local information through available app controls or by deleting the app. Deleting the app removes its local data and may permanently remove saved rounds or artwork. Content already displayed on a physical Marker is not erased by deleting the app.
